Welcome to the AFP Miami Chapter!

With over 30,000 fundraising professionals across the national organization, the Association of Fundraising Professionals is well represented locally through AFP Miami. The chapter was founded in 1975, however most well-known for hosting one of the first National Philanthropy Day celebrations back in 1985. Today, National Philanthropy Day is celebrated by AFP chapters throughout the world. 

Our primary purpose is to educate and advance the careers of those in the rapidly changing field of development. AFP Miami promotes ethical standards, networking for members and provides access to listing local, regional and national employment opportunities.

Advance development at a vibrant Miami-Dade Reform Jewish Synagogue. The advancement coordinator is directly involved with advancement initiatives, including the annual campaign and the fundraising gala, working with other volunteers, professional staff, and others to coordinate all development activities and events. The advancement coordinator will plan, execute, and document the temple’s advancement initiatives; organize a variety of meetings with donors and prospects; facilitate communication among staff, volunteers, and donors; develop and monitor development-related budgets; acknowledge and track gifts and pledges; and, maintain all advancement project files. Aug 17 - Director, Donor Relations and Partnerships
The Role Teach For America – Miami-Dade seeks a Director, Donor Relations & Partnerships (DDRP) to drive our campaign to raise over $2 million from individuals each year, enabling the Miami-Dade region to move more efficiently and effectively toward reaching ambitious revenue goals of more than $6 million dollars in operating revenue during fiscal year 2017 and work to continue to aggressively grow local revenue through 2020. The Director, Donor Relations & Partnerships will work closely with the Managing Director, Institutional Advancement (MDIA) and Executive Director (ED) to set and execute high level individual giving strategy and will be responsible for: growing the individual giving portfolio by over $800,000 in 2017 and charting a path for ambitious growth in the future; creating and executing an operational plan in order to meet fundraising goals; developing strategies and cultivation plans for a portfolio of donors and prospects; and managing up to the MDIA and ED to cultivate, solicit and steward donors as necessary. The DDRP will report directly to the MDIA. In addition, the DDRP will work closely with (and ultimately manage) the Associate, Donor Relations & Partnerships (ADRP), working in tandem to inform the vision, goals, and strategy for increasing and diversifying the individual giving donor base. To be successful, the DDRP must be a goal-oriented, charismatic individual who enjoys meeting and rallying key stakeholders around Teach For America’s mission. He or she must also be a critical thinker with a keen understanding of what motivates others; display sound judgment in prioritizing actions based on outcomes and data; must be able to work well across internal functional teams; and must be able to get results through others.
