We invite you to learn more about how to apply by going to: ▪ http://um.hodesiq.com/job_detail.asp?JobID=4723458 Or log onto • www.phnow.org/manager As our Senior Manager, Business Operations,(Donor Relations Manager) you will coordinate all aspects of the DPHS’ fundraising and development communications efforts, helping to build meaningful relationships with individuals and private foundations, alumni and other friends of the University of Miami dedicated to public health innovation for a world of increasing complexity. You will: • Work closely with Senior Development Director, DPHS Chair, Executive Vice Chair and faculty Chair and faculty to help ensure funding is used as directed and donor reports are generated in an accurate and timely manner; • Assist the Senior Development Director identify prospective donors and funding sources; • Ensure regular and timely communications and stewardship with donors; • Help design and implement all development events, coordinating receptions, dinners, community activities and small events to support donor cultivation and stewardship; • Coordinate and implement all DPHS volunteer leadership activities; • Assist the Senior Development Director in preparing a strategic plan for development and fundraising communications; • Serve as a liaison with consultants to help implement social media related to fundraising; • Analyze development operational and administrative practices. Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s preferred. • At least (5) years of development experience. Equivalent combinations of education/experience may be considered. • Knowledge of fundraising principles and techniques. • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, logistics, resource allocation, leadership and coordination of people and resources. • Knowledge of and passion for the field of public health. • Exceptional interpersonal skills • Ability to be highly organized, energetic and assertive • Skilled at using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. • At least 5 years of development experience, preferably in an academic setting. •  Exercise discretion and independent judgment in daily activities in a confidential manner. • Analytical, with strong planning skills, ability to work independently and think through activities • Proficient in Microsoft Office program including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access and Raiser’s Edge. • Detail-oriented, exceptional work ethic, and proactive in performing duties • Strong writing, organizational, and management skills • Staff and professional development skills • Ability to listen, critically assess, understand, anticipate, and problem-solve • A teamwork-oriented approach to colleagues and proven ability to manage people in a positive and constructive environment are essential. Public health innovations such as cleaner water and improved hygiene can take credit for 25 of the 30 years Americans have gained in life expectancy over the last century (only 5 years of gain are due to medical advances).
