Florida International University seeks an experienced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial fundraising professional for the role of Senior Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation.

Florida International University (FIU) is an urban, multi-campus, public research university serving its students and the diverse population of South Florida. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Development, University Advancement, the Senior Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation serves as the chief solicitation and fundraising officer for the University’s Corporate and Foundation Relations program. As a key member of the central development team responsible for the University’s overall fundraising plan and for building and strengthening core fundraising services and activities, the Senior Director provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure successful implementation, continued development and management of a comprehensive Corporate and Foundation Relations program in support of the University’s goals, objectives and campaign.

The successful candidate will have a broad background in corporate and foundation fundraising within a complex, multi-unit environment with multiple stakeholders, with five+ years of progressively responsible fundraising experience with a demonstrated career track record in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and closing five and six figure gifts and a history of stability with an organization. A record of success in a campaign environment is highly preferred. S/he will have a fundamental and thorough understanding of complex, large-scale fundraising operations and the variety of units that comprise them. Hands-on experience as a frontline fundraiser is critical. S/he will possess superior presentation skills, including the presence to deal effectively with senior level administrators, volunteers, and corporate/foundation executives. The successful candidate will have the ability to create and communicate excitement about FIU’s fundamental strengths, including the broad array of academic programs and the tremendous accomplishments of the faculty and student body.

A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate specialization and eight years of experience, or a master’s degree in an appropriate specialization and six years of experience is required.
