The Annual Fund Manager is responsible for the overall success of comprehensive, multi-channel annual giving program primarily focused on donors. The manager directs and administers all aspects of annual giving to include: direct mail, fundraising, online fundraising, donor database maintenance and appeal segmentation, donor acknowledgement and stewardship; gift processing and financial reporting. The manager will also participate in some event planning in coordination with the volunteer-based Events Committee.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Responsible to plan and implement a comprehensive giving program to broaden donor base, upgrade the average size of donation, and increase donor retention.

  •   Analyze effectiveness of various fundraising methods and messages; adapt future appeals accordingly.

  •   Create and implement strategic fundraising based on donor segmentation and research.

  •   Develop and manage annual expense budget for annual giving appeals.

  •   Monitor the monthly progress of annual giving results compared to financial goals.

  •   Manage donor acknowledgement and stewardship.

  •   Manage relationships with external vendors and internal departments to meet annual giving deadlines and goals.

    General Responsibilities:

  •   Support growth of CASTLE by working with Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Development Committees to identify new prospects, steward donors, and track all fundraising efforts.

  •   Ensure overall accuracy and timeliness of all donor correspondence.

  •   Represent CASTLE at service organizations and community events.

  •   Work with the CASTLE Events Committee to plan and host successful fundraising events

    targeted to developing new donors and stewarding current donors.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • CFRE preferred.

  • Minimum of five years development experience, including annual campaigns.

  • Knowledge of fund development principles and public relations.

  • Strong organizational administration, telephone and interpersonal communication skills, detail

    and big pictureoriented.

  • Strong word processing, desktop publishing, and spreadsheet experience.

  • Skill in preparing written reports and presentations.

  • Solid writing, editing, and presentation ability.

  • Professional demeanor, flexible and able to respond to multiple demands.
