The University offers undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degrees at its 144 acre campus in Miami Gardens, Florida, and through distance learning, including one of the oldest (and highly ranked) undergraduate programs in Sports Administration in the Country.The University is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to support its Blueprint for Leadership Campaign.We are seeking an experienced and highly professional individual responsible for the development and implementation of a strategic gift solicitation plan for generating major gifts from high-level donors and prospects. Position responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, maintaining a portfolio of up to 200 donors and prospects to generate gifts of $100,000 and up; cultivating planned giving relationships with new and existing donors in coordination with others; and working closely with Board members, academic leaders, faculty, staff and other volunteers to identify and engage new prospects. The successful candidate will have demonstrated development experience identifying, qualifying, cultivating and soliciting prospects (preferably, for non-profit organizations; significant comparable work in sales, marketing or other client-management professions will be considered). The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; at least five to seven years developing and managing high-level, strategic donor relationships; and demonstrated success in securing major gifts of $100,000 and up from individual donors and corporations.
