Position: Executive Director, Miami Beach Botanical Garden
Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the Miami Beach Botanical Garden, including maintaining strong working relationships with civic and community leaders. The position requires management skills to oversee paid staff and volunteers in compliance with the mission of this 501(c)(3) organization, which has operated as the Miami Beach Garden Conservancy since 1996.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in not-for-profit management. The candidate must have extensive fundraising/development credentials and experience in facilities management. Excellent personal and written communications skills are a must.
Starting Salary: $60,000-$70,000 based upon experience, plus a benefits package, paid vacation and holidays.
Day-to-day management of staff, volunteers, community outreach, cultural programs and educational events.
Liaison with City of Miami Beach officials: Keep contracts current and serve as the Garden’s representative at government/community functions.
Development/Fundraising: Identify and pursue appropriate grant opportunities. Solicit corporate and private donations.
Marketing/Communications: Oversee development of all marketing content, including print and e- newsletters, social media, and promotional material for educational programs.
Community Outreach: Maintain contact with members, local partners, sponsors, students, garden clubs and other interested parties. Expand membership.
Facilities Management: Oversee maintenance of all the Garden's physical assets (grounds, building, ponds, etc.) and keep them in excellent condition.
