CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION RELATIONS MANAGER/DIRECTOR
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will be responsible for developing and securing financial resources from corporations and community and family foundations, through sponsorships, partnerships, grants and in-kind and other gifts. Working closely with the Foundation’s Chief Development Officer, as well as with the medical leadership of Jackson Health System, the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will identify, cultivate and secure five, six and seven figure funding.
The Corporate and Foundation Relations Director will:
Develop a Corporate Partnership program that includes an array of attractive corporate sponsorship and benefit options and increase the Foundation’s fundraising and community visibility;
Expand on an existing event-driven corporate sponsorship program and engage corporate leaders involvement with Jackson programs and centers of excellence by providing smart and attractive marketing, networking and naming opportunities;
Develop a strategic plan to identify and submit proposals to community and private foundations in South Florida and national foundations, matching a foundation’s focus and funding interests with corresponding programs at Jackson Health System;
Establish new relationships with corporate and community foundation leadership and trustees of family foundations, and increase the involvement of current corporate and foundation supporters with the Jackson Health Foundation and Jackson Health System;
Working with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer, coordinate and execute strategies, cultivations and solicitations; set and adhere to ambitious goals and benchmarks to increase corporate and foundation funding and contribute significantly to the Foundation’s fundraising;
Assume primary responsibility for the writing and preparation of proposals, letters of inquiry and grant applications, as well as all accompanying materials, including program narratives and budgets; prepare corporate presentations and other written materials;
Develop a significant and growing pool of 100 to 150 corporate and foundation prospects for five, six and seven figure funding;
Coordinate activities with the Chief Development Officer, development colleagues and the prospect management process to ensure the maximal participation and giving of the Foundation’s donors and prospective donors, recognizing the capacity of an individual to make a corporate and personal gift and planned gifts as well;
Establish procedures for tracking and qualifying prospects and diligently adhere to the prospect management process, recording all cultivation and solicitation moves and providing for a proper institutional record;
Be a good colleague and contribute to the successful cultivation of the best gift for the donor and for the Foundation, working cooperatively with all development officer colleagues and Foundation staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred, and minimum five years experience in corporate relations, foundation relations and/or major gifts. The successful candidate will be smart and articulate, able to present a compelling vision and case for support, have demonstrated success in fundraising solicitations, strong communication skills for effective presentations and discussions in board rooms and executive offices.
REQUIRED SKILLS: The successful candidate will be able to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines, have experience in writing proposals and a solid working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and foundation research tools, such as Guidestar.
