Young At Art Mission: To provide inspiring, interactive experiences in which art is central to shaping young minds and enriching our community.


Position Summary:

Responsible for the successful planning, development, implementation and management of all fundraising, marketing, membership and special events conducted for the benefit of Young At Art Museum, consistent with the mission of the institution.




l     Manage and direct the Museum’s annual fund, meeting the Museum’s budgetary goals from donor sources including foundation, corporate, individual and government grants; membership; auxiliary; planned giving; endowment; direct mail; special events; and general contributions.


l     Manage and direct the conclusion of the Museum’s capital campaign, under the guidance and in association with the Museum’s President/CEO, Trustees and outside consultant.


l     Manage and direct the Museum’s marketing and public relations program, enhancing attendance and audience awareness of Museum exhibits, programs and events and maximizing earned revenue based programs. Responsible for developing and managing special events, promotional opportunities, published materials, and social media targeted to both members and the general public.


l     Manage, train, motivate and supervise the development and marketing staff  and volunteers in all fundraising activities, write proposals and maintain accurate and appropriate gift and research records.


l     Coordinate the Museum’s overall public advocacy efforts.


l     Work with the President/CEO and Trustees in raising the Museum’s profile in the community.


l     Participate in institutional policy setting, program implementation, fiscal oversight and program evaluation as part of Museum Management Team.

l     Provide staff support to Board of Directors’ Development Committee. Organize Trustee orientation and assist President with Trustee meetings and other activities as required.


l     Manage staff of approximately seven (7) development and marketing professionals.




l     B.A. or B.S. degree required.

l     Strong interpersonal skills and appreciation of the Museum’s mission

l     Excellent planning and organizational skills

l     Ability to motivate both staff and volunteers

l     Ability to effectively and professionally represent Museum to potential donors

l     Strong oral and written communication capabilities, including proposal writing

l     Ability to develop and implement creative fundraising strategies to advance the Museum’s profile in the community and maximize the Museum’s resource development efforts


A minimum of five (5) years experience as well as management of professional staff for non-profit institutions. Proven record of success essential.
