  1. Summary of Position: Describe the major objective of this position:


The Community Outreach Manager (COM) will manage volunteer coordination, community outreach, tour program and oversee the company calendar to include all tracking and acknowledgements.  The COM will seek to nurture connections with individuals and businesses or organizations that help support the mission of Chapman Partnership.  Position will manage Volunteer Specialist North and Receptionist/Administrative Assistant.

Management of the Volunteer Program including supervision of Volunteer Specialist and Community Outreach Coordinator to coordinate all volunteer programs and activities, community volunteer projects, meal program, supply drives and events


To increase community awareness and ensure appropriate engagement and opportunities for volunteers



Manage process for gifts-in-kind from corporations, individuals, community groups to include the donation hotline and pick-up log, tracking, database and sending out thank you letters for all in-kind donations




To ensure goods and services are available to meet resident’s needs






Track Board attendance and manage board committees including spiritual, community support and neighborhood advisory. Also, will oversee the tour program, nextgen and Growing Together initiatives



To provide administrative support to the Board of Trustees


Plan annual volunteer recognition, luncheon to include venue, invitations, menu planning and program



To thank volunteers


Manage the company calendar


To ensure coordination of on-site activities for staff and volunteers






Knowledge/Skill Requirements:


a)   Knowledge:              

Familiar with volunteer management, special events and public relations and understanding of their role in the non-profit sector.  


b)   Kind and length of experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of volunteer management, recruitment and event management experience including solicitation of in-kind goods or equivalent supplemented by the required education.  Must have supervisory experience. Seven (7) years’ experience may substitute for the education requirement.


c)   Skills required:

Computer literate. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational leadership and networking skills. Ability to multi-task.  Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole preferred.


d)   Traits required:

Computer literate.  Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to be a team player.  Strong organizational skills.  Ability to get along with others and be flexible.  Ability to handle a fast paced and high pressure environment.  Ability to be patient.


e)       Education required:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field; or equivalent experience.
