2016 Honorees

Honoring those who make a differenceAnnLogoSm

Philanthropy and volunteerism are selfless acts of generosity and kindness. National Philanthropy Day is designed to honor those who improve our community and our lives with their efforts in hundreds of cities across America. The event is organized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Miami-Dade Chapter with the generous support of our partners.

We will be honoring people and organizations in the following areas:

 

Outstanding Philanthropist Award

This award is presented to an individual or family with a record of exceptional generosity who, through direct financial support, has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility, and whose generosity encourages others to take philanthropic leadership roles on a local, national and/or international level. Nominations should include specific examples of direct financial support to nonprofit organizations, the impact of the gift support, special achievements and leadership taken to motivate and encourage others to give.

 

James W. McLamore Outstanding Volunteer Award

The person eligible for this nomination must be a member of the local community and have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in coordinating groups of volunteers in major fund raising projects and a commitment to the advancement of philanthropy.


Outstanding Grant Maker Award

2016 NPD Honoree

The Garner Foundation

This award is presented to a grant making organization that has made a significant impact with its grant funding in the previous year in support of nonprofit philanthropic organizations in Miami-Dade County. The grant-making organization need not be headquartered here. Nominations should include a description of the grant activity, the financial contributions and the difference that those contributions made to nonprofit organizations and throughout the community.

The Julia Tuttle Award for Community Involvement and Corporate Citizenship

Lennar Corporation

The Lennar Corporation

This award is presented to a corporation that operates its business in Miami-Dade County, but need not be head-quartered here. Underwriting of special programs and events, cash contributions, in-kind gifts of goods and services, and time and service committed by its staff are key areas of community involvement. Nominations should include a description of the extent of financial contributions to nonprofit organizations, services rendered, and leadership.
